Comparative evaluation of dithranol-loaded nanosponges fabricated by solvent evaporation technique and melt method

Abstract Background Dithranol, a standard drug for psoriasis, has lured keen attention by virtue of its antioxidant, anti-proliferative and anti-inflammatory activities. However, poor stability solubility critically impair the formulation design, evaluation administration. To improve these issues, dithranol was encased in ?-cyclodextrin nanosponges using solvent evaporation technique. Previously, containing were developed our laboratory melt Herein, comparison prepared both techniques also included. Results Different nanosponge batches engineered diphenyl carbonate as cross-linker with polymer employing Dithranol loaded via lyophilization. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, differential scanning colorimeter powdered X-ray diffraction studies confirmed successful encapsulation complexation this nanosponges. The effect variable amount on solubility, efficiency, zeta potential, particle size polydispersity index evaluated fabricated nanocarriers. Further, subjected to studies, photostability examination antioxidant activity analysis compared previously dithranol-loaded From present results, it concluded that technique not only improved but preserved efficacy chosen drug. Conclusion overall results emphasized moral guidance concerning encapsulation, characterization accredited solubilization, potential. method are easy promising methods fabricate dithranol. This comparative study demonstrated parameters which affected techniques. from scientists should select preparation based objective their research work requirement desired features.
